(string) = type(v)

The possible results of this function are:

  • "nil" (a string, not the value nil)
  • "number"
  • "string"
  • "boolean"
  • "table"
  • "function"
  • "thread"
  • "userdata"

v: (any) value to get type from

Return values

Returns (string) type of the variable
